The Duchess of Sussex wore a necklace by a First Nations artist on an outing in Vancouver earlier this week.
Meghan Markle, 38, was gifted the stunning 18ct gold and diamond whale tail charm on her visit to the Justice for Girls group on Tuesday.
The necklace was designed by Hollie Bartlett, who is a member of the Haisla Nation. Hollie hand-picked the piece from her collection at Vancouver’s Douglas Reynolds Gallery, which specialises in historic and contemporary northwest coast native art.

The piece was presented to the Duchess by the team at Justice for Girls (JFG).
JFG describes itself on its website as an organization that ‘promotes social justice and an end to violence, poverty and racism in the lives of teenage girls who live in poverty.’
In a sign of her appreciation, Meghan immediately put on the necklace and ensured it was clearly visible when she posed for a photo with the team.
The rest of her outfit was casual, with Meghan opting for a sweater by The Row, favourite DL1961 denim jeans and a practical pair of brown Le Chameau Jameson quilted boots. Meghan previously wore the sweater on TV show Suits.

The Douglas Reynolds Gallery later shared its excitement at having the royal’s support. The official account shared a photo of the Duchess alongside a close-up of the whale tail necklace.
The caption reads: ‘We are incredibly proud of our artist @holliebearbartlett who came into the #douglasreynoldsgallery to pick one of her favourite pendants to gift to the #DuchessofSussex #MeaghanMarkle.

Earlier that day Meghan visited the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center on Tuesday afternoon, where was on hand to ‘offer support’ and ‘boost the staff’s spirits’.
Today the Duchess was seen driving herself to Victoria International Airport to collect close friend Heather Dorak.
Meanwhile Prince Harry, 35, remains in the UK to take part in meetings about their future role. Their one-year-old son Archie is in Canada with his mother.
