Meghan Trainor’s eldest son Riley, 2 snuggles up to his younger newborn brother Barry in video

Meghan Trainor’s eldest son Riley, 2, is already proving to be a protective older brother for his little sibling, Barry. 

The Mother singer’s second son was born on July 1, 2023, which coincidentally, was the anniversary of her first date with her husband Daryl Sabara, 31. 

Little Riley can be seen snuggling up to his newborn baby brother in a heartwarming video shared by his mother for her millions of Instagram followers. 

‘Riley loves his baby brother so much,’ the Made You Look singer captioned the video with, adding a crying emoji for good measure. 

Her little ginger-haired son can be seen in the video watching Barry protectively, placing a loving hand on the newborn’s forehead while his little brother slept in his cradle.

After the former Spy Kids star started dating Meghan back in 2016, the actor jumped at the chance to propose, doing so a year later in Palm Springs. 

They tied the knot in 2018, on the Lips Are Movin singer’s birthday. 

Riley followed three years later, with the couple’s first son being the spitting image of his father with coppery red hair. 

The new mother gushed about her son to People, saying. ‘[Riley] recognizes me and he’s like, ‘I’m so excited to see you.’

She conveyed how it was exciting for her to realize, ‘That’s crazy. That came from love. That came from soulmates.’ It’s the greatest.’ 

The talented singer-songwriter has made it publicly known that she wants to have four children in total. 

She grew one step closer to her dream in January 2022, when she announced that she was pregnant with her second child. 

The Dear Future Mama author told People just a few months before Barry was born that, ‘I look at my husband and go, ‘We are so lucky,’ she said. ‘I’m the best version of me. Each kid’s going to bring a new version of me that I think is going to be badass — so I need four, at least!’

The NO singer revealed that Riley was ready to be a loving older brother from the start. 

When she was pregnant, the couple would, ‘Try to tell him, ‘There’s a baby in the belly,’ but then [Riley] points to his belly now and is like, ‘Baby.’ 

‘And we’re like, ‘Oh no, it’s not in yours — it’s in Mama’s belly!’ the mother of two recounted. 

Meghan revealed after Barry’s birth that he was a C-section baby. 

‘He was a big boy at 8lbs 7oz…and sideways (transverse), but we had an amazing, successful c-section, and I finally got my skin to skin time!’ the singer wrote on Instagram, thanking the doctors and nurses who had helped her through the delivery.
