Megyn Kelly, who is the highest paid NBC’s highest paid news star, has allegedly angered NBC execs by trying to book former E! News host Catt Sadler.
Sadler left the station when she discovered she was making half her cohost’s, Jason Kennedy, salary.
An NBC insider said Megyn tried to book Sadler for the Megyn Kelly Today show to talk about gender wage gap issues.
‘They are appalled [Kelly] would use their own airtime to criticize the company,’ the insider said to the New York Post.

‘It was bad enough when Debra Messing [who stars on NBC’s ‘Will & Grace’] weighed in on [Sadler’s grievance] on the Golden Globes red carpet on NBC. Now Megyn is going to put Catt front and center — on NBC! Yikes.’
Sadler left E! after 12 years when she discovered the pay disparity.
‘An executive from E brought something alarming to my attention — namely, that there was a massive disparity in pay between my similarly situated male co-host and myself. More recently, when E reached out to renew and extend my deal, I learned that he wasn’t just making a little more than I was,’ Sadler said in a blog post.

‘In fact, he was making close to double my salary for the past several years.’
Kelly, on the other hand, makes a whopping $23million a year – significantly more than Today cohost Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie who only make $7million a year each.
The host’s hour of Today has been performing poorly compared to that of Kotb and Guthrie.

Matt Lauer, before he was fired for sexual assault and abuse allegations, made $20million on the show – still $3million less than Kelly

And the recent issues with the network aren’t Kelly’s first tussles with NBC.
Following the firing of Matt Lauer, Kelly hosted one of his accuser’s lawyer, who criticized the network’s treatment of his client.
She also recently made comments during a segment where she mentioned the benefits of fat shaming.
