Mel Gibson’s picturesque country property in rural Victoria is on sale for $3.5million

A farm that was once the country getaway for Hollywood superstar Mel Gibson is now up for sale with a price range of $3million-$3.5million.

Located in Gundowring, Victoria, 332kms from Melbourne, the Mad Max actor, 67, sold the sprawling property to the current owners in 2016.

Situated on 21hectares of land with a main homestead boasting six-bedrooms and three-bathrooms, Gibson lived on the property with his family in the 1980s, reports the Herald Sun.

Originally, the estate, known as ‘Beartooth’ covered 809ha, but Gibson sold off most it, while retaining the house, in 2008.

Currently operating as a bed and breakfast, the gorgeous two-storey main building opens out to the beautiful Kiewa River.

The father-of-nine relocated to Los Angeles in the early 1980s before becoming one of the world’s most successful actors.

His 1995 epic Braveheart won the Oscar for Best Picture.

But after an antisemitic rant and a well-publicised battle with alcoholism, Mel was unofficially blacklisted from Hollywood for years.

However, he returned to the spotlight in 2016, directing critically-acclaimed war drama Hacksaw Ridge.
