First Lady Melania Trump publicly thanked Chelsea Clinton late Tuesday for coming to Barron Trump’s defense again after he was criticized by a conservative news site for dressing too casually.
‘Thank you, Chelsea Clinton,’ the first lady tweeted on Tuesday. ‘So important to support all of our children in being themselves!’
The tweet ended with the hashtag #StopChildhoodBullying.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Melania Trump pledged to use the office of the first lady to combat cyber bullying.
The 11-year-old youngest son of President Donald Trump was the subject of an article titled ‘It’s High Time Barron Trump Starts Dressing Like He’s In the White House’.
The Daily Caller article, published on Monday, was written by Ford Springer, who berates Barron for his attire.

Former first daughter Chelsea tweeted in response to the article, saying: ‘It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves’.
She included a link to the article, which says ‘Barron looked like he was hopping on Air Force One for a trip to the movie theater’ while his parents, the president and First Lady Melania ‘traveled in their Sunday best’ on their way from Bedminster, New Jersey, back to the White House on Sunday.
Barron wore a red t-shirt, khaki shorts and suede loafers, Springer points out, while his father wore a suit and his mother wore ‘an elegant dress’.
He concluded the article by saying: ‘The youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public.’

Chelsea’s Twitter defense on Monday isn’t the first time she’s stood up for Barron.
In January, after Barron was subjected to taunts from internet bullies after his father’s inauguration, Chelsea called for the public to lay off the then-10-year-old.
On Twitter and on Facebook, she wrote: ‘Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does-to be a kid.’
Her statement became political after that, when she concluded: ‘Standing up for every kid also means opposing @POTUS policies that hurt kids.’
