Melanie Sykes shoots the new Boddingtons Bitter ad

She announced in the spring that she’d be returning as the face of Boddingtons Bitter once again, 20 years after the brand launched her TV and modelling career.

And the time has now come for Melanie Sykes to shoot the much-anticipated new commercial.

In first look images from the set, the TV personality, 46, was seen reunited with a cool pint of Boddingtons ale, sat at a pub bench in front of a backdrop of rolling English countryside.

Want a flake in that… again? Melanie Sykes, 46, has been shooting the brand new Boddingtons Bitter commercial… 20 years after she turned heads in her iconic TV debut for the beer brand

The presenter was on set in Sussex’s South Downs, looking barely a day older than she did in the iconic ad two decades ago.

Swapping the sexy pink ice-cream girl costume of her original ad, the model looked a little more conservative in a little black dress, with a halterneck design, still showcasing the mother-of-two’s incredibly svelte figure.

The northern stunner looked perfectly preened for the commercial, wearing her sleek brunette locks loose, sporting a tanned complexion.

She seemed in great spirits as she smiled at her familiar prop – a pint of ale – as the crew milled around her and prepared to roll the cameras.

She was also seen wrapped in a light robe and sheltered under a canopy with the advert’s director, watching back the footage and getting notes.

She shared the exciting news on her Instagram account in March, declaring how ‘happy and excited’ she was for the collaboration.

While attending the Publican Awards on Tuesday evening, the bubbly brunette broke the thrilling news to her 91k followers while cradling a can of the beer.

Displaying a bright smile, Melanie captioned the shot: ‘Guess what you lot I have some extremely exciting news I want to share with you. I am being reunited with my old muckers Boddingtons Bitter.

‘After twenty years we are going to shoot a brand new commercial !!!! So happy and excited I cannot even begin to tell you (sic)’.

Clearly still delighted at the news, the TV presenter went on to share four more snaps to honour her reunion with the iconic beer brand – each one proving that she had not aged a day, in two decades.

Beaming into the camera lens, she wrote: ‘Just one more pic peeps! Grinning like a Lancashire cat at my reunion with Boddingtons Bitter 21 years later.

‘I am buzzing and so happy to be part of the team. Brings back great memories’.

Melanie wore a semi-sheer black gown, which hugged her incredibly statuesque figure as she wowed the crowd at the award ceremony in Battersea, London.

Mel explained: ‘I’m incredibly fond of my association with Boddingtons Bitter. I really enjoyed shooting both my commercials for them.

‘It is just over twenty years since I appeared in the first ad and it was a truly life changing time. It marked the end of a successful modelling career and introduced me into the world of TV presenting.
