As one publicist aptly told The Herald Sun, ‘they may not care to see a horse but they help spread awareness that it’s the place to be’.

However, the invite exclusions of Vince Colosimo and Marty Sheargold, and others serve as a reminder of the ever-evolving dynamics of fame.

Wayne Carey, Clayton Oliver and former Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews are also not invited.

An insider noted, ‘That’s not to say they can’t ever be invited again but when you hit the headlines or are followed by incidents and drama, there is no value for a sponsor.’

‘Guest lists need to be current with people we want to see and hear about.’
