Melbourne musician Ecca Vandal robbed of equipment

A singer-songwriter has been left devastated after a large amount of music equipment was stolen from her home studio ahead of an upcoming tour. 

Ecca Vandal confirmed the robbery on Facebook, in a post asking fans to keep an eye out for her equipment. 

Thieves were able to make off with a six-string bass valued at $4,000, a laptop, wireless transmitters, a keyboard, drum samplers, a DJ table and road case worth $1,500, a number of guitar pedals and more, valuing at tens of thousands of dollars.

‘We’ve had some really valuable gear stolen, all things necessary for our live show,’ Ecca wrote on Facebook.

‘As you can understand, this is everything for us and we’d really like to get it back. Please keep your ears and eyes open for us, if you see this stuff around, please let us know. 

‘For anyone who hunts around for gear at second-hand stores in Melbourne or online, please look out for these pieces also.’ 

The message said any help would be greatly appreciated to spread the word, adding that the equipment is vital to their work.

Ecca’s manager told Daily Mail Australia it was disappointing as new music is potentially also lost, should the gear not be recovered.

Fans have offered their support for the artist, promising to stay vigilant to for any information which may lead to the gear’s return.

‘Devastated to hear this,’ wrote one kind follower. ‘Let me know if you start a fund to replace.’   

Some shared their distaste for the callous ‘scumbags,’ who are currently being sought by Victoria Police officers.

Ecca is due to support Incubus on their first Australian headline tour in six years in March across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne after releasing self-titled debut album.
