Many people wouldn’t dare to buy a multi-million dollar home without stepping foot inside first – but one married couple did just that on their honeymoon.
The newlyweds bought their new marital home while overseas after only taking a virtual tour of the house.
The couple bought their three-bedroom, two-bathroom Melbourne home for $1.44 million – $139,000 above the vendor’s reserve.

Instead of traditionally inspecting the house before purchasing, the newlyweds spoke to the groom’s mother over FaceTime and she then took them on a tour of the home, realestate.com.au reports.
Jellis Craig Fitzroy auctioneer Simon Shrimpton said the groom’s mother also bid on the property for them and purchased it .
‘Then the purchasers met the vendors via FaceTime and they congratulated each other,’ Mr Shrimpton said.
The Clifton Hill house, 15 minutes north of Melbourne, features upper-level city views and is surrounded by Yarra River park lands.
The three-bedroom home doesn’t skimp on any luxuries, with an alfresco oasis and stone kitchen some of the highlights.
Although 108 parties inspected the multi-million dollar property in person, the four who bid didn’t stand a chance against the newlyweds, who are yet to step foot in their marital home.
The auctioneer said more than 100 people inspected the home in person, but the couple were only ones to do virtual tour
