‘She has unconditionally supported me throughout this journey and I feel this achievement is as much mine as it is hers,’ Mr Cilmi said

The university graduate invited Rebecca on to the stage, explaining they had been in a relationship since they were 15-years-old.

‘If I had a dollar for every time someone asked when I was going to propose, I’d probably wouldn’t have a HECS debt,’ Mr Cilmi said to the audience.

‘My response to this question was always the same, I would like to propose once I have my degree.

‘Now, what a more fitting occasion than the day I graduate from my degree.

‘With that being said, there is only one more question left to ask.’
