    St Kilda and other popular beaches in the city are reportedly about to shut, according to the Herald Sun.

    Port Phillip Mayor Brenadene Voss is reportedly going to make the announcement after hundreds of people were seen at beaches in Melbourne – flouting social distancing rules designed to stop the spread of coronavirus. 

    Melbourne radio host Tom Elliott said he was concerned that the ‘message isn’t getting through’ after Prime Minister Scott Morrison told Australians to stop gathering in large groups.

    June, a caller to 3AW radio, said she was ‘absolutely disgusted’ at the actions of people at the beach on Friday.
