Melissa’s frock featured pronounced ruffled sleeves and she added a pair of Lillian Shalom opera gloves.

She accessorized with statement-making silver-toned rings worn over them as she walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre.

Her standout look was finished with a pair of coordinating satin heels with a stone-covered brooch on the front.

The Mike and Molly actress wore her light brown, shoulder-length, highlighted locks in a side part and tight waves.

McCarthy stepped out for the star-studded affair in a face of flattering, matte makeup.

One week ago she took to Instagram to hype up the new flick, sharing a promotional image that showed her in character.

Engaging her 11.8 million followers, she wrote, ‘One month until I get to share this fever dream with everyone!!’

She joked about Ursula’s ultra-thin, ultra-arched eyebrows in the photo as she added, ‘Eyebrows inspired by Missy McCarthy circa 1988 !!!’

While strolling the step-and-repeat in Hollywood, the star posed with Javier Bardem, who plays Ariel’s father King Triton in the movie.

The 54-year-old actor looked handsome in a deep navy blue suit, which he teamed with a button-up black shirt and shiny black dress shoes.

In a cover story for Ebony, Halle revealed that playing Ariel ‘…is all a part of God’s plan for me.’

Halle has been a star since she was a teenager, performing as one half of the R&B singing group Chloe x Halle with sister Chloe Bailey.

Landing the role of Ariel has allowed her to spread her wings and explore her individuality.

‘It was the first thing I did by myself, independently,’ Halle revealed to the outlet. ‘I had to move across the world. Suddenly I was in London, and I was by myself. It really forced me to grow up.

‘The whole filming experience was insane. It was the most intense, excruciatingly beautiful experience of my life. I mean, physically, mentally — all of the above,’ the actress admitted.

‘But once I got through it, I was like, wow. [I was] really impressed with myself, because I’d never done something like that before.’

Iconic songs from the movie’s soundtrack have had their lyrics changed to reflect consent in the forthcoming remake of the Disney film.

Composer Alan Menken told Vanity Fair:  ‘There are some lyric changes in Kiss the Girl because people have gotten very sensitive about the idea that [Prince Eric] would, in any way, force himself on [Ariel].’

The Little Mermaid is expected to make a big splash when it debuts in theaters over the Memorial Day weekend.

Current projections show the live-action remake of the 1989 animated classic pulling in $110 million over its four day opening weekend, according to Deadline.
