Melissa Stark and Andrew Siciliano ‘are OUT at NFL Network as the outlet cuts four big on-air personalities’ amid reports the league could look to sell its media assets to ESPN

NFL Network has cut a number of big on-air personalities as it continues trimming back its staff, according to a report. 

As the network continues to par down its roster of hosts, Melissa Stark, Andrew Siciliano, James Palmer and Will Selva have all been forced out. 

‘As is normal course of business this time of year, we are evaluating our talent roster for the upcoming 2024 season and beyond,’ NFL Network spokesperson Alex Riethmiller told The Athletic. 

‘That process results in renewals, non-renewals and additions to our talent lineup depending on programming needs. To those departing talent, we give our sincere thanks and appreciation for their hard work and contributions to NFL Media.’ 

Palmer confirmed his job loss on social media early Thursday morning, telling his followers he was looking forward to the next step.

The cuts come as the network continues to par down its roster of on-air talent

‘Some personal news. NFL Network has bought out my contract and my time there has come to an end. It was a dream job and I loved every minute of it,’ he wrote in a post on X.

‘And that’s mostly because of the people that I got to work with and the friendships that will last well beyond any “job”. I’m excited for what’s to come. Not sure what that is exactly, I’ve learned a lot in the last decade at NFL Network and I’m better for it.’

Palmer had been with the network for almost a decade, joining in 2015 as a national reporter. 

Siciliano had been one of the main hosts on the network for years, first gaining popularity on DirecTV’s ‘RedZone’ back in 2005 before the platform lost the right to YouTube ahead of last season. He also served as a host for NFL Total Access.

Meanwhile, Stark was part of NFL Network’s big event coverage, interviewing players on stage at the draft and hosting red carpet events for the draft and Super Bowl as well the NFL Honors.

The 50-year-old will remain the sideline reporter for NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’.

Selva, among other roles, provided updates on NFL Network’s ‘Good Morning Football’, which the network recently announced it would be relocating from New York to its Los Angeles studios. 

Jamie Erdhal has said she will move west with the program but Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt and Jason McCourty have yet to announce if they will follow suit. 

The quartet of Stark, Siciliano, Palmer and Selva is just part of wider cost-cutting measures from the network. 

The NFL has been in talks about selling NFL Network and other NFL Media assets to ESPN in an equity swap, The Athletic reports.
