Melonba, western Sydney: Horror as man found dead on footpath near Mount Druitt

A man has died on a footpath outside a home in Sydney’s west, with shocking images showing a pool of blood staining the concrete.

The grim discovery was made about 8.45pm on Friday, with emergency services called to Georgina Crescent in Melonba, near Mount Druitt.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the man, who had been found unresponsive on the footpath, could not be revived.

He is believed to be in his 30s but is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene and arrested another man nearby, who is assisting police with their inquiries.

Images from the street on Saturday morning show blood pooled on the footpath, as officers in forensic suits photograph a taped-off home across the road.

Melonba is a new suburb, created in 2020, and about 51km north west of Sydney’s CBD.
