Paramedics were called to the property on Old Bruce Highway in Tuchekoi, about 30 kilometres south of Gympie, Queensland, just before 5pm on Sunday.

The Queensland Ambulance Service tweeted that the patients’ injuries were caused by a gas bottle explosion and a fire in a shed.

Fire crews arrived at the property to assist paramedics with extinguishing the blaze and providing first aid to the victims.

Ambulance staff confirmed that two male patients were being treated for burns to their torso.

One was reportedly airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital, while the other was taken to a hospital on the Sunshine Coast.

The initial cause of the explosion and fire is as yet unconfirmed.
