Three men who share a unique sexual fetish for other people’s farts have candidly spoken out about how it affects their intimate relationships, while also revealing how they first learned that they were aroused by flatulence.
Speaking anonymously to Vice, the trio or men – one single straight man, one single gay man, and one married straight man – each detailed their own personal experiences with the festish, which is known as eproctophilia.
According to the men, the fetish is not the same for every person; while it commonly focuses around a sexual attraction to farts, some only find them appealing when they are being farted on by a member of the opposite sex, while for others it has to be a person of the same sex, a preference which doesn’t always follow the person’s sexuality.
Farts: Farting fetishes exist and there are actual men out there who are turned on by flatulence which is called eproctophilia (file photo used)
Then there are those who prefer to fart on others, a practice which is seen as being slightly more rare in the eproctophilia community.
According to Sarah Berry, a sex and relationship therapist, the fetish is often developed when someone is exposed to farting in a heightened environment.
‘Farts are generally regarded as funny, gross and/or embarrassing,’ she explained to Vice.
‘Any experiences exacerbating any of these reactions could give rise to farting as a sexual preference.’
One 22-year-old straight man told the site that he can actually pinpoint the exact moment at the age of just six when he first realized that he had the fetish.
‘I remember I wasn’t allowed to even use the word “fart” when I was little, so that probably made it feel more taboo or forbidden to me,’ he explained.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old gay man from Australia shared his story with Vice saying that his fetish started all the way back to his childhood.
‘As a young boy, I always had an unsaid admiration for other boys who were “public” farters, as they always seemed so uninhibited, confident and a little subversive.’
He then detailed how when he got older he became more in-tune with his sexuality admitting: ‘One day when I was feeling a little jaded and wanting to shock, I let rip rather loudly in front of another man in the university gym changing room.
‘I then did this on a regular basis. Sometimes, my farts actually received a positive response.’
The major difference between both of these men is that the 22-year-old still has yet to carry out his fantasy while the 52-year-old already has.
The 22-year-old attracted to women’s farts confessed, ‘I go to a few online forums and the like, so I have some online friends who are into it.’
Aside from chat rooms he watches the fetishes being carried out in online videos, ‘They don’t contain sex or nudity. Most of the ones I watch are solo videos where the model is alone, either fully-dressed or in suggestive clothing, like lingerie.’
When the Australian was 40 he finally got to carry out his dream scenario after visiting a man who shared the same fantasy as him and they planned a meetup abroad.
‘We spent 24 hours together, during which we farted in front of each other in various locations like a restaurant, farted on each other’s hands and eventually in each other’s faces.’
Another man that comes into play is a 37-year-old married straight man from Brazil who has ‘face-to-butt interactions’ often but despite being a straight man, he is only turned on by men’s farts.
He shared with Vice that him and his cousin were watching TV and, ‘he deliberately farted on my face, trying to be funny’.
‘He didn’t know I was near his butt cheeks to appreciate them, and his fart made my dreams come true,’ he added.
There are so many different ways that someone with eproctophilia can be turned on by farts but one thing that’s for sure among the community across the board is that none of them are into coprophilia.
Coprophilia, the fetish of being aroused by feces, is actually the last thing people with eproctophilia are turned on by and they are actually grossed out and against it.
