Mert Ney: Man slashes prison guard after being jailed for killing sex worker Michaela Dunn

A notorious murderer who was jailed for decades for viciously stabbing a sex worker to death during a bloody rampage, has attacked a prison guard with a razor blade.

Mert Ney shocked Sydney in August, 2019 when he murdered Michaela Dunn, 24, and ran through the streets brandishing a knife, stabbing another woman before he was subdued by brave Good Samaritans.

He was jailed for more than 40 years, with Supreme Court Justice Peter Johnson describing his actions as a ‘cruel, brutal and terrifying attack made for no reason’.

Ney is being housed at the state’s most secure prison, Goulburn Supermax.

It is understood Ney slashed a corrections officer across the chest during an incident on Friday at about 10am.

At the time of Ms Dunn’s death, Ney had booked a $250 sexual service with the young woman who worked out of a Clarence St unit.

He then viciously stabbed her in the face, neck, chest and arms before going on a terrifying rampage through the streets brandishing another knife and with a balaclava over his head.

A group of courageous citizens managed to subdue him with a chair and a milk crate before he was arrested by police.
