Meshel Laurie says Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy have SPLIT

She had the rare opportunity to interview The Bachelorette’s newest couple Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy on The Project this Friday.

But after seeing the couple in the flesh, Meshel Laurie has revealed that she believes Sophie and Stu have already called time on their relationship.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday morning, the fiery presenter shared a post from comedian Kate Langbroek claiming that Sophie ‘hates’ Stu, along with the cheeky caption: ‘Thank God for @katelangbroek!’

Kate’s original post featured an image of a very awkward-looking Sophie and Stu, taken during their appearance on the Project.

Kate had also used the caption ‘She hates him’ along with the hashtags #poorsophie and #itsdone to make it known she believed the couple had split.

Meanwhile, Meshel went on to justify her opinion in a comment, writing: ‘I don’t know what Stu is normally like, but I realised eventually that Sophie was a bit off her game.’

‘Exhausted and overwhelmed no doubt. I went in expecting the usual kind of conversation I have with Sophie, but for whatever reason it was a bit off’ she wrote.

‘I suspect she felt a bit anxious for Stu, because he is not used to this stuff.’

In a separate comment, she continued: ‘I don’t have an opinion on Stu. I really couldn’t care less who Sophie chose. I just pointed out how we women often think we are looking for one thing but actually are attracted to something else.’

‘I’ve never seen an episode of the show in my life. Honestly, I have to find the hysteria around it funny. It’s just ridiculous. I haven’t made any comment whatsoever on Stu’s character. Don’t know him, not interested.’

Publican Stu also appeared to be in discomfort and repeatedly made odd facial expressions throughout the segment.

Aside from keeping their hands to themselves, the pair also seemed to hesitate when asked whether they were still together.
