Mets infielder Wilmer Flores hit a foul ball directly into his nose during Saturday night’s game against the Houston Astros. 

Flores was up against Astros starter Brad Peacock in the fourth inning when he fouled off the pitch directly into his face during the game in Houston. 

Blood was gushing from his nose immediately after the ball made contact.

Flores fell to the ground, clutching his nose in agony after taking the ball to his face

He fell to the ground in pain, clutching his bleeding nose. Manager Terry Collins and team trainers rushed to his aide.

The Mets announced he was taken to the hospital for X-rays but did not elaborate on his condition. 

The announcers were quick to comment he was lucky the ball didn’t hit him in his eye, which could potentially cause vision damage.

The Mets went on to lose their second game in the series against the Astros, 4-1.

Mets who were playing a double header against the Astros, lost in the previous game, 12-8 to the Astros, but Flores had personally fared better.

He hit what was his 18th homer of the season and and his first slam since Aug. 26, 2016.
