Metz midfielder Jean-Jacques Danley was shown a straight red card following a horrific challenge during Monday’s 6-3 defeat to Guingamp.

Metz had been 3-1 up but lost their heads, Danley’s challenge the least savoury moment of the match.

Jean-Jacques Danley received a straight red card for this horrific challenge on Monday night

The 22-year-old Haitian international lunged in recklessly on Tristan Muyumba and could have easily caused a serious injury.

His studs caught the defensive midfielder high up on the shin, sending him flying in the process.

Fortunately Muyumba’s foot was not planted, reducing the impact, and he was able to play on.

The Guingamp players were rightly furious and the referee wasted little time in brandishing the red.
