Daewood Davis has been released from the hospital after he was carted off the field and rushed to hospital following a collision with Jaguars linebacker Dequan Jackson on Saturday night.

The Dolphins released a statement via social media Sunday morning, revealing the positive update.

‘Dolphins WR Daewood Davis has been released from the hospital. He will travel home to Miami today with team personnel.’

With 8:32 remaining in the preseason game at Jacksonville’s TIAA Bank Field, play was suspended after Davis went down from the collision with Jackson and laid motionless on the field.

The Dolphins confirmed after the game that Davis was conscious after being taken to Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville for further examination.

As a result of Davis’ situation, the preseason finale was suspended – an ever-increasing occurrence in the NFL.

Green Bay and New England chose to set the preseason precedent after the Pats’ rookie corner Isaiah Bolden was carted off in the fourth quarter. Incidentally, he was also cleared the following day.

Davis was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky.

The 24-year-old is listed as the Dolphins’ 11th wideout on their depth chart. It is unlikely he makes the final 53-man roster.
