Miami Housewives star Lisa deletes Hurricane Irma picture

Lisa Hochstein, the Real Housewives of Miami star who was blasted after uploading a picture of herself fleeing Hurricane Irma in a private jet, has deleted the image.

The 35-year-old replaced the pictured with one announcing that she would be making a donation to the hurricane victims, and paying tribute to Miami.

However, she stopped short of issuing an actual apology for the picture, which saw her criticized as being ‘tone deaf’ and a ‘vapid a**hole’.

Hurricane Irma has killed at least 24 Americans since making landfall as a Category 4 storm in Florida on Sunday.

Around half of Florida’s entire population, 9.5 million, have been left without power, while 110,000 people remain in temporary shelters.

At least 37 others have been killed by Irma on islands in the Caribbean.

It did not take long for the reality TV star to be criticized after posting the picture on Saturday.

‘All these A holes posing and showing off w their private jets in Miami, why don’t u offer help families and animals that can’t get out?’ model Joanna Krupa tweeted before someone replied: ‘@lisahochstein I think she’s talking about you….’

Another tweet read: ‘This is disgusting. I get evacuating. I don’t however understand their need to be vapid a**holes #LisaHochstein.

‘Talk about tone deaf… let me stop as we evacuate for a photo in front of our private jet.’

Hochstein hit back at the ‘nasty comments’, saying they weren’t the only ones on the private jet.

‘Although it’s none of your damn business we were not the only ones in this plane. Every seat was occupied and my son had to sit in my lap,’ she wrote.

‘EVERYONE IS POSTING ON SM (social media) about how they escaped! This happens to be mine and I don’t need to apologize or hide to ANYONE ABOUT HOW WE DO SO.

‘We also did not have paper work for our dogs to fly commercial as every vet was closed and every flight was booked and there is no way in hell we would leave them behind. Fortunately we were able to get a Plane to take them with us.’
