Michael J. Fox sports warm coat at Toronto airport

He’s endured a long a successful acting career.

And Michael J. Fox was ready to continue adding to his resume as he landed at the Toronto Pearson International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

The 56-year-old actor sported a heavy coat and hat as he made his way through the airport in his home country of Canada, where he’s expected to film scenes of the hit political show Designated Survivor.

The Good Wife actor stayed warm wearing a large black puffy jacket with a blue shirt popping from underneath.

He sported a pair of comfortable blue jeans and black trainers as he walked through the concourse with the assistance of a cane. 

The father-of-four donned a pair of black framed glasses in addition to a khaki hat with the Duke logo embroidered across the top in blue writing.

The Back to the Future star was seen walking to a waiting vehicle with a scruffy mustache and matching beard. 

Fox is set to star in the political drama Designated Survivor for a five-episode stint as Ethan West, a Washington attorney who is hired by President Tom Kirkman’s (Kiefer Sutherland) cabinet, according to Entertainment Weekly. 

Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and later publicly disclosed his condition in 1998.

He recently pledged £100,000 in funding towards the development of a new app for monitoring Parkinson’s disease symptoms.  

The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF), created in 2000, has dished out more than $750 million (£530m) in research funding. 

Parkinson’s disease, which claimed the life of boxing legend Muhammed Ali in 2016, affects one in 500 people and around 127,000 people in the UK live with the condition, while figures also suggest one million Americans also suffer. 

Michael has been married to actress Tracy Pollan for nearly 30 years, and the couple has four children; Sam, 28, twins Schuyler and Aquinnah, 22, and Esme, 16.
