Michael Keaton was the star of his own personal meet-cut when he first encountered his girlfriend Marni Turner.
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star, 73, who brought his partner with him to the Tim Burton Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, revealed he was blown away by his lady love’s beauty when he first encountered her on a street in Los Angeles sometime around 2016.
‘I kind of went, “Whoa.” And then she turned out to be a very nice person,’ he told People of the romcom-like meeting.
Turner, 51, also has an eye for fashion and a bargain.
‘She prides herself in going — like somebody walks up to her, and goes, “That is a fantastic!” And she’ll go, “Thank you. $39, T.J. Maxx.”‘

‘That’s kind of her thing,’ he explained, ‘She’s known for it.’
Turner was also with him while he shot his Emmy winning performance as a doctor at the center of the opioid epidemic in 2021’s Dopesick.
‘I lost my nephew to fentanyl, heroin and fentanyl. So, that obviously made it even more special,’ the actor said of the series.
‘It’s one reason I did it. Some people think it’s the only reason I did it. It wasn’t. It was just really well written and I would’ve done it anyway,’ he contended of the series based on building a legal case against the makers of Oxycontin.
‘But it definitely pushed it over the top for me just to honor him, I guess, but also bring awareness to it for other people.’
The actor said Turner offered him support during that emotional time. ‘I could not have gotten through Dopesick without her,’ he said.
The actor, born Michael John Douglas, had decided he wants to begin using a version his birthname for the remainder of his career.
Due to Screen Actors Guild rules which prohibit an actor from having the same stage name as another, Keaton was forced to abandon Douglas as his last name, adopting Keaton after finding the name in the phonebook, according to Wikipedia.

The actor can’t quite recall the motivation. ‘I was looking through – I can’t remember if it was a phone book,’ he told the outlet.
‘I must’ve gone, “I don’t know, let me think of something here”. And I went, “Oh, that sounds reasonable.”‘
He has changed his name on social media and had hoped to include his new moniker in the credits for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
‘I said, “Hey, just as a warning, my credit is going to be Michael Keaton Douglas. And it totally got away from me. And I forgot to give them enough time to put it in and create that. But that will happen,’ he declared.
