And five years on Michael McIntyre is still revelling from the fruits of his labour as he was seen speeding off in his £150,000 Ferrari California after hitting the gym in Primrose Hill on Thursday.
Dressed down, the 41-year-old funnyman – who presented Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow – donned a grey camouflage hoodie.

Having worked up a sweat, the father-of-two looked exhausted as he headed home after a gruelling exercise session.
Feeling the strain after the gym, Michael decided to drive home, hopping into his Ferrari California – which has a top speed of 193mph and can do 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds.
The supercar is just one of the comedian’s impressive line-up, which is also said to include a top of the range Jaguar, a BMW X5 and a Porsche Cayenne.

The comedian has risen through the ranks to become one of the best known faces in British comedy, but just a few years ago life was very different for the arena-filling comedian.
Before his big break with an appearance on the Royal Variety Show in 2006, the star was living in a one-bedroom flat in North London with his wife Kitty and their newborn son Lucas.
He was £40,000 in debt and money was so tight they used a salvaged old microwave oven as a dining table.
But in 2012 McIntyre was reported to be the highest grossing comedian in the world after his Showtime tour took £21million – of which he is thought to have pocketed £9.2million.

Michael has now been happily married to Kitty for 14 years, and the couple share sons Lucas, 12, and Oscar, 10.
He hasn’t had a chance to take things easy, however, as recently revealed that being parents take its toll.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: ‘I don’t know how it is with other people’s relationships, but my wife is always much more tired than me because she works much harder looking after the children, which is an endless battle.
‘A lot of it is battling with them to stop battling with each other.’
