Violent Michael Presley, 24, was sentenced to two years and nine months imprisonment at the age of 17 for committing grievous bodily harm
A thug jailed for a vicious assault has gone on the run from prison – and posted this video moaning about his sentence being ‘a disgrace’.
Violent Michael Presley, 24, was sentenced to two years and nine months imprisonment at the age of 17 for committing grievous bodily harm.
He was considered so dangerous he was given a sentence of Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) – which sets a minimum sentence only.
It means he must satisfy a parole board that he is no longer a danger to the public – and he has now served six years.
He went on the run from prison and then posted a video explaining he had ‘absconded’ in order to try to make his voice heard.
Presley also calls on the Ministry of Justice to ‘give us a chance’ and put an end to indeterminate sentences.
The thug, who escaped from HMP Spring Hill in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, at about 9pm on Tuesday, said in the video: ‘This sentence is a disgrace. It’s not acceptable.

‘You took me away from my daughter, my family, every single person I love, because I made one stupid mistake when I was a child.
‘I’ve lost absolutely everything. I’ve lost hope, I’ve lost faith, and I don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.’
He added: ‘I’ve now doubled that, and more. It’s not right.
‘I’m trying to get my voice out for every IPP that’s serving. We’re still human beings. Give us a chance, and we will be better,’ he pleaded in his video.
‘If you don’t give us a chance, we lose hope, and we will keep having knockback after knockback.’
Presley handed himself back in to prison last night, about an hour after posting the video online.
Police had previously issued a warning earlier in the day to advise members of the public to ‘be vigilant’ against the escaped prisoner.
Presley was due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates Court today charged with escaping from lawful custody.
