Michael Strahan has officially entered the grandfather club.
The TV host and former athlete, 52, welcomed his first grandchild, after his daughter Tanita, 32, gave birth to a baby boy, according to People.
The Good Morning America anchor — whose other daughter Isabella, 19, was recently declared cancer-free — reportedly announced the happy news during the Fox NFL Sunday show, and revealed that the baby’s name is Onyx. No additional details have been given at this time.
Tanita, a Los Angeles based illustrator, is the eldest of Michael’s four children. He shares her with first wife, Wanda Hutchins.
Michael and Wanda were married from 1992 until 1996.

Tanita was born in Germany, but lived in Houston, Texas, until her parents’ divorce.
Afterwards she moved back to Germany with her mother.
In 2016 she credited her relaxed personality to her German upbringing.
‘I’ve never been the type of person to be starstruck. Growing up in Germany, no one cared about stuff like that,’ she told People.
She returned to the United States in high school and pursued a degree in design and visual communication at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
Michael revealed how Tanita has a similar personality to his in a 2013 interview with New York Family, saying she is ‘kind of like me in the sense that she has a very strong personality, but a silent strong personality.’
‘She’s not going to be one to walk into a room and make it all about her. She definitely has an opinion and she’s very smart and she knows what she wants, which I love about her.’
In 2022 he celebrated his daughter’s birthday with a sweet Instagram tribute, sharing a current photo of them, as well as a throwback of her as a baby.

Besides Tanita, Michael also shares son Michael Strahan Jr., 29, with Wanda.
Wanda is also mom to son Dorian from a previous relationship, who is often seen in family photos with Michael.
He also has twin daughters Isabella and Sophia, 19, with his second wife, Jean Muggli.
The pair divorced in 2006 after seven years of marriage.
The happy baby news comes after Michael’s younger daughter Isabella was able to return to college last month, after taking a leave of absence amid her cancer battle.
The 19-year-old soldiered through multiple surgeries and months of agonizing treatment, including chemotherapy, to treat a rare brain tumor.
In July, she was able to triumphantly announce on her YouTube channel that she was ‘cancer-free’ after undergoing her final MRI.
Isabella broke the news about her college return by cheerfully posting a selfie with her mom to her Insta Stories, writing: ‘Back at USC’ in the school’s red and gold colors.

She was a college freshman when she was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in October after doctors found a tumor ‘bigger than a golf ball’ growing at the back of her brain, which caused her to suffer ‘excruciating headaches’ and vomiting.
Isabella documented her cancer battle on her YouTube channel. In July she shared she had undergone another major surgery after ringing the bell to mark the end of her chemotherapy treatment.
She later took to YouTube to share another update as she delightedly revealed she was cancer-free after having undergone her last MRI.
The daughter of the GMA host shared that ‘everything was great’ before admitting that she was excited to go back to her normal life and prepare to head back to college.
Isabella has previously opened up about some of the terrible symptoms she has endured as a result of her chemotherapy.
At the time, she said ‘everything’ hurt and it felt like she was ‘having a heart attack.’
‘My eyes are strained, they hurt to look to the sides. My whole mouth feels like I got one giant root canal,’ she continued.
‘Every single tooth, just ripped out and not even surgically put back in. My jaw hurts, the bottom of my tongue hurts. It hurts when I gulp water.’
Isabella explained on GMA in January that she started suffering from ‘excruciating headaches’ during her freshman year in college.
‘I noticed something was off since probably September,’ she shared. ‘Like October 1, that’s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, [I] couldn’t walk straight.’

Initially, Isabella said she mistook her symptoms for vertigo. Michael confessed that when his daughter shared her symptoms with him, he never considered that they might be indications that she was battling cancer, particularly because she was just 18 and was so ‘young, strong and healthy.’
However, on October 25, Isabella said her condition took a severe decline, with the teenager revealing that she began throwing up blood soon after waking up.
According to Michael, he was told about his daughter’s brain tumor before she was, explaining that he ‘doesn’t remember much’ about the moment he learned of her diagnosis, but that he just ‘remembers trying to figure out how to get to Los Angeles ASAP.’
Isabella was ultimately diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which – according to GMA – accounts for 20 per cent of all childhood brain tumors and is typically found in about 500 children each year, most commonly those between the ages of five and nine.
