Michelle Bridges defends Steve ‘Commando’ Willis after criticism from fan

He was recently confirmed as the latest contestant to appear in the upcoming season of Australian Survivor: Champions Versus Contenders.

And The Biggest Loser judge Steve ‘Commando’ Willis has already received backlash from fans, prompting his partner Michelle Bridges, 42, to jump to his defence.

Fiery Michelle hit back on Tuesday after a fan accused Steve of having a ‘completely unfair advantage’ on the physically demanding program.

The user commented: ‘Hmmm that seems like he’s at a completely unfair advantage!’ underneath a picture shared to her page. 

Michelle hit back with: ‘Not really… he does all the work.’

She went on: ‘They laze and unsurvive until the “game” starts. Imagine if they all had to fend for themselves?! Build their own camp….?! S**t would go down real quick.’

It’s not the first time Michelle has made her thoughts known about her partner’s impending appearance on the show.

Speaking exclusively to The Sunday Telegraph on Sunday, the fitness guru revealed that her one deal-breaking rule for Steve as he films the show is that he maintains a ‘ hand-off policy’ with fellow camp-mates. 

‘No cuddling,’ the mother-of-one declared to the publication. 

Steve is one of the most famous faces slated to appear on the reboot series, which will see 12 everyday Australians battle it out with 12 champions for a shot at winning $500,000.

Other household names appearing in the show’s line-up include swimming legend Steve Gould and Australia Rugby League and Rugby Union star Mat Rogers.

Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph this week, Steve confessed that he will find it difficult to be away from his family for the duration of the show.

Steve has two children from his previous partner Froso; Ella, 10 and Jack, seven, and a two-year-old son Axel who he shares with Michelle.

The show is set to hit screens on August 1 on Network Ten.
