Michelle Dockery has revealed she donated her character Kate Woodcroft’s outfits from Anatomy Of A Scandal to charity.

Speaking on The One Show on Tuesday, the actress detailed her generous actions after she gave several garments to the charity Smart Works who support women who are struggling with financial difficulties.

The 40-year-old dons several sophisticated outfits in Netflix’s psychological courtroom drama, and even wears a peruke wig while transforming into the prosecutor.

Michelle told presenters Lauren Laverne and Jermaine Jenas that she felt the ensembles from the show were perfect for the charities good cause. 

The star said: ‘On some shows you do get given the clothes – we don’t on Downton by the way – but I did get offered my wardrobe for my character Kate in the Anatomy Of A Scandal’

‘And for a couple of years now I’ve been working with a charity called Smart Works which supports women who have financial difficulty

Michelle continued: ‘And so the clothes are then given as a wardrobe and somebody styles them for an interview and also there is confidence and coaching for interviews and the clothes on Anatomy were great for an interview’ 

The Downton Abbey star beamed as Lauren went on to read out a heart-warming message from a women who had received a blazer Michelle donated. 

Dora, who was successful in her recent job interview while sporting the new item of clothing, said: ‘Thank you so much Michelle for my outfit, I feel like a boss. It’s true what they say when you look good you feel good and I definitely feel good

She was joined on the show by her Downton Abbey co-stars Laura Carmichael and Allen Leech the day after the premiere to discuss the new film.

The natural beauty showcased her sensational style in a black ruffle skirt, teamed with a ribbed long-sleeve top.

While making a casual exit from the studio, Michelle bundled up in a bold leopard print coat, teamed with black jeans and a t-shirt.

The star looked stunning as she styled her brunette tresses in a low bun and opted for a natural palette of makeup with a pink lip.
