Former First Lady Michelle Obama was spotted in Los Angeles on Thursday without her husband former President Barack Obama, amid rumors of marital strife between the two.

But former first lady seemingly sent a signal to skeptics of her relationship as she proudly wore her diamond engagement and wedding rings as she visited The Academy headquarters in North Hollywood.

However, her husband Barack Obama was nowhere to be seen as she made a public outing with her brother and new podcast cohost Craig Robinson.

Michelle appeared to be in great spirts, looking stylish in a $650 olive green Nili Lotan cardigan, with brown kitten heels and a long wavy ponytail.

She finished off her look with a Bottega Veneta ‘Arco Intrecciato’ Leather Tote Bag retailing at $3,700.

President Obama was last seen with Michelle in December, nearly five months ago.

The former First Lady has recently escalated her conversations about the struggles of marriage and dating on her IMO podcast with her brother Craig Robinson.

In her latest conversation with Tracee Ellis Ross and her brother, the trio spoke about what it was like when she first started dating Barack.

Robinson revealed that he felt that when Michelle and Barack Obama began dating, he did not think the relationship would last a month.

‘I’ve told this story many times about when you first started dating Barack. So Mich starts to date Barack, and we don’t know who this guy is, we’re just like, ‘Barack? Who’s got a name like Barack?’ And I’m thinking it’s gonna last a month like most of your relationships,’ Robinson said chuckling, adding that he felt the relationship was ‘not going to last.’

Michelle Obama stressed to her listeners that marriage was difficult.

‘Marriage is hard and it is reasonably hard, you know, it’s the right kind of hard but don’t get upset when it’s hard,’ she said.

She also revealed that she warns young people to expect long periods when a marriage is extremely difficult.

‘The reality is that if you choose to have a traditional marriage and you have kids let me tell you the years from one to 13 will be bad for you as an adult,’ she said. ‘It’s beautiful but they will take you for a loop.’

Obama also spoke about what it was like for her to date ‘cheaters’ and why she did not want to struggle with that in her relationship.

‘I knew that you date enough people you date people that just cheat right? And one thing I learned, luckily I learned it soon, I realized. That cheating if I was dating a cheater that had nothing to do with me,’ she said. ‘I would rather just look somebody in the face and say we should break up because I’m thinking about dating somebody else and I’m not going to hold you hostage while I go experience stuff.’

She said she wanted to make sure that the man she married had the same qualities as she did on honesty in a relationship.

‘I dated people who were broken in that way and it’s like that’s not fun to me, guessing whether my partner is faithful like some people are good with that game,’ she said.

Since Michelle Obama failed to appear with her husband at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Donald Trump’s inauguration, the couple has faced rumors of a possible separation or a divorce.

Michelle Obama addressed the divorce rumors on a podcast hosted by actress Sophia Bush earlier this month, defending her decision to skip the pair of public events as her own personal decision.

‘That’s what society does to us,’ she said defensively, describing it as insulting that she as a ‘grown woman’ could not just make a decision for herself.

‘That’s the thing that we as women, I think we struggle with disappointing people. I mean, so much so that this year people were, you know, they couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing,’ Obama continued.

She disapproved of how people reacted to her and Barack spending time separately, indicating she would not change her public actions to satisfy other people’s expectations.

‘We start actually, finally going, ‘What am I doing? Who am I doing this for?’ And if it doesn’t fit into the sort of stereotype of what people think we should do, then it gets labeled as something negative and horrible,’ she said.
