A fourth grade girl is truly embracing the holiday spirit by ensuring that her classmates won’t go hungry.

She began making fidget spinners out of straws and sold them to her classmates in Grand Haven, Michigan.

‘Big ones are a dollar and little ones are 50 cents,’ she said to WXMI.

In her first week, Lexi made $11 to help other students get hot lunches.

Sara Bergeron put together a GoFundMe hoping to raise $188 to pay off the entire Ferry Elementary School debt.

The fundraiser far surpassed expectations, and now the pair hopes to raise $2,200 by the end of December to wipe out the debt for the whole district.

‘Let’s see if we can come together and eliminate as much of this as possible,’ Sara wrote on the page.

‘I know it’s the holiday season and money can be tight but even the smallest if donations count! Again, thank you all from the very bottom of my heart for supporting her wish and helping so many of our children!’
