Michigan state senator’s granddaughter drowns in pool

The two-year-old granddaughter of a Michigan politician has tragically died in a drowning accident.

Republican State Senator Ken Horn, 58, lost his granddaughter Zelda ‘Zellie’ Rowan Horn on Sunday, reports Michigan Live.

Zelda allegedly made it outside of her Frankenmuth, Michigan home and somehow fell into its outdoor pool on Sunday evening.

The girl is survived by her parents, Kevin and Ruth, and her brother Liam. Her father found her and tried to perform CPR on her, to no avail

First responders took her to Covenant HealthCare, where she died.

Horn said in a statement: ‘Our entire family is struggling to come to grips with this tragedy and our first day without Zellie.

‘We also extend our most sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Covenant Hospital for your care and empathy.
