Mike Gunner gets into a bizarre feud with feminist Clementine Ford

While she may be a fan of Married At First Sight, Clementine Ford is most certainly not a fan of Mike Gunner.

The 38-year-old feminist writer engaged in a bizarre war of words with the 44-year-old electrician on Instagram on Wednesday.

The argument began after Clementine left a comment below one of Heidi Latcham’s posts, saying that she was ‘too good’ for her on-screen husband.

‘You are way too good for the sleazy black hole that is Mike,’ she wrote.

Mike saw Clementine’s comment and was quick to respond with a few choice words of his own.

‘I can see that charm isn’t your strong suit,’ he wrote.

Clementine replied: ‘Maybe not, but honesty is! How’s your 25-year-old girlfriend Mike? GoOd LuCk WiTh YoUr RaDiO cArEeR!!!!’

Mike then accused the bestselling author of making ‘assumptions’ about him, and called her bitter.

‘To make assumptions is a reflection of bad judgment. I truly hope that one day you can overcome your bitterness and accept that everyone is on their own unique journey,’ he wrote.

But Clementine refused to back down, saying Mike had unwittingly helped Australian women by showing them what a ‘gaslighter’ looks like.

‘With an ego the size of yours, it must kill you to know so many women around the country saw right through you and into the empty void that is your personality,’ she began.

‘But seriously though, thank you for providing a months-long example of what chronic gaslighting and negging looks like. You’ve probably helped a lot of women walk away from terrible relationships with men just like you!’

Mike simply responded: ‘I bet you’re fun at parties.’

This only angered Clementine further, as she took yet another swipe at him – this time shaming him about the slovenliness of his house.

‘I think the important thing to remember is that my house isn’t too dirty to host [parties],’ she wrote.

‘Isn’t that why they didn’t film at your house Mike? Because it’s FILTHY?

‘I tell you what, it’s amazing the things women will flood your inbox to tell you about that bald loser they once dated… it’s all quite the juicy gossip!’

Rather than being offended, however, Mike said he took being hated by Clementine as a ‘compliment’.

‘I’ll take it as a compliment that I’ve made you feel something other than your usual sense of entitlement,’ he wrote.

‘From what I can tell, you have an excess of judgment and a deficiency of both compassion and diplomacy.

‘You’re hardly in a position to give criticism, you rarely hesitate to cast your bitter vitriol at men and this is why you’re not taken seriously by them.

‘It’s neither constructive nor helpful to women or men in general to sow hatred. Perhaps you can step away from the trolling and use your energy to focus on something more constructive.’

Hmm! Mike previously blamed 'toxic feminism' and women with 'strong personalities' for the backlash he received over his treatment of Heidi on Married At First Sight

It comes after Mike blamed ‘toxic feminism’ and women with ‘strong personalities’ for the backlash he received over his treatment of Heidi on MAFS.

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald on Wednesday, Mike claimed that society had turned against men.

He said there was a ‘double standard’ in favour of women, adding that political correctness had been taken to the extreme.

‘Are you telling me that men can’t stand up for themselves?’ he said, responding to public criticism of his behaviour.

‘Are men now so emasculated that we can’t speak our minds? That we can’t be real? That we have to somehow fulfil the expectations of those around us?

‘I simply refuse to do that and I am speaking on behalf of all men in this country.’
