Mike Tindall has said it was ‘lovely’ to see his son Lucas christened alongside Princess Eugenie’s son August Brooksbank over the weekend.
Mike, 43, and wife Zara joined Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank to christen their sons at All Saints Chapel, at the Royal Lodge, Windsor, on Sunday, in front of family members including proud great-grandmother the Queen.
Speaking on his podcast the Good, the Bad and the Rugby, Mike said: ‘We had the christening on Sunday, it was lovely. It was a lovely day.

Asked by co-presenter Alex Payne if eight-month-old Lucas had enjoyed the ‘dunking’, Mike said: ‘He did actually. I took him swimming in the morning, I think I readied him for it, he was quite looking forward to it but then the water was coming out…’
The service came just three days after Jack Brooksbank’s father, George, died.
But he and Eugenie put on a brave face and joined with close relatives and friends to mark the milestone in their nine-month-old son’s life.
There were fears the Queen would not attend her grandsons’ double Christening after being forced to miss the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph because of a sprained back.

But she had told courtiers she was set on being present this weekend as her granddaughters Princess Eugenie, 31, and Zara Tindall, 40, christen their first-born sons and was pictured at the ceremony in Windsor.
Princess Eugenie cut a stylish figure in a silk white dress featuring embroidered detail which she paired with a statement headband and blue pendant necklace, while her husband Jack looked dapper in a navy suit, crisp white shirt and light blue, patterned tie.
Meanwhile, Zara Tindall opted for a black ensemble and pearl dangling earrings as she drove herself to the venue in a black Range Rover, while her smiling husband Mike arrived in a separate vehicle dressed in a smart blazer.

It only emerged after the christening that August’s paternal grandfather, George Brooksbank, had died just days before.
The Brooksbank family paid tribute to the old Etonian, 72, in a notice placed in Tuesday’s Daily Telegraph, saying he ‘loved all the good things in life’, most of all his family.
The touching note read: ‘Brooksbank, George. Died on 18th November. Loved all the good things in life but especially his wife, friends, boys, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Private family cremation, memorial details to be announced.’
