A multi-millionaire has been ordered to buy his ex a new house after she told a judge their teenage daughters were too big for the bedroom they currently share.

The woman said the London house the man, who is worth at least £40million, bought her more than a decade ago following the breakdown of their relationship is no longer ‘suitable’.

She said the girls, who are in their mid-teens, were tall and complained that their bedroom was ‘too small’ and ‘too low’.

She also said new housing had been built nearby, generating more traffic and an increase in crime.

The woman asked Mr Justice Cohen to rule that she could relocate at the man’s expense. The man opposed the application but the judge has ruled in her favour.

Detail of the case has emerged in a written ruling by Mr Justice Cohen published following a private hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in London.

He concluded that it was reasonable for the woman and her daughters to ‘require to be housed elsewhere’.

The judge said the man had paid around £1million for the house following a ruling by another judge.

He said the man should now give the woman £1.35 million to buy another home.

Mr Justice Cohen said the family involved could not be identified.
