More than five million Australians are set to receive $250 as the government continues to revive the Covid-19 economy.
The payment is part of the fourth installment of the federal government’s Covid-19 response package, totalling $1.3billion.
The $250 payment will be issued to those who received an eligible payment or held a concession card on or before February 26 this year.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg revealed the payments would continue Australia’s recovery by injecting a much needed $12billion into the economy.

‘As we move towards a more optimistic and stronger recovery this year, this latest payment will provide further support to millions of low-income households recovering from the impacts of Covid-19,’ he said.
Government Services Minister Stuart Robert said most of the payments will be in people’s bank accounts by mid-March.
‘There’s nothing you need to do to receive this payment,’ he said.
‘The payment will appear in your Centrelink online account on myGov or the Centrelink app generally 48 hours before it goes into your bank account.’
The Economic Support Payment is a $500 handout, split into two of payments of $250.
The first was distributed electronically in December last year, with the second payment due in bank accounts across March.
The deadline for eligibility to receive the payment passed last month.
