Milo Yiannopoulos’ tour sales ‘set to pass $1 million’

 Right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos’ tour was a success.

Well at least as far as promoters are concerned, set to make a mint from a visit that sparked violent protests and a $50,000 bill from Victorian Police.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, promoters have said ticket and merchandise sales are ‘set to pass $1 million.’

The publication also claims that after Milo takes his ‘$250,000’ appearance fee out of that, and all other bills are paid, there’s big plans for the profits.

Those plans reportedly do not include paying the $50,000 bill Victorian Police passed-on to organisers for providing security.

‘We have not been sent the bill yet, but if we do my message to the minister [Police Minister Lisa Neville]  is simple – sue me.’

Instead, it’s been claimed promoters will use the profits to build ‘a luxury supper club’ in Darlinghurst.

 Affectionately dubbed ‘Milo’s bar’ exact plans and details regarding the venue, as has become synonymous with the controversial figure, are ‘shrouded in secrecy.’

Promoter and Penthouse publisher Damien Costas reportedly confirmed he made enough from the tour to build the club, but was tight-lipped on the details. 

In Melbourne on Monday night, hundreds of police were sent in to control up to 500 left-wing and up to 50 right-wing activists outside Milo’s speaking tour event.

Five officers were pelted with bottles and rocks and two protesters, one from each side, were arrested during the violent scenes.

Yiannopoulos, who arrived in Australia last week for his seven-show tour, slammed the ‘violent’ left-wing protesters for causing the trouble that required heavy police presence.

‘There was a lot of kerfuffle out front,’ he told Alan Jones on 2GB Radio on Tuesday.

‘It was not as the newspapers reported ”a clash between the far left and far right” it was the left, showing up, being violent to stop freedom of speech. 

Yiannopoulos’ speeches on university campuses in the US have previously sparked violent protests.

He was banned from Twitter last year after being blamed for a barrage of racist abuse directed by his fans toward Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones.

He has previously likened feminism to cancer, Islam to AIDS and has spoken out against gay rights and the Black Lives Matter movement – despite being openly homosexual and married to an African American man.

Yiannopoulos lost a book deal after a video emerged in February in which he said some relationships between older men and teenage boys could be beneficial.
