A ‘trippy’ picture of what appears on first glance to be thousands of revellers enjoying a music festival has gone viral.

A Twitter user posted a snap that looked like a huge crowd at either Glastonbury or Coachella – but all is not as it seems.

The confusing picture actually shows a combine harvester driving through a cotton field – but it fooled thousands of people who admitted it pulled the wool over their eyes.

One Twitter user said, ‘that’s actually so trippy wtf’, another commented ‘my head hurts’ while one wrote ‘MY EYES LIE TO ME’.

And the picture led to some users to aim digs at actual music festivals.

Tweeter Pickle Dave said: ‘It may only be cotton in a field but it still has more atmosphere than Tomorrowland.’

Archie Michael tweeted: ‘Still better than Leeds Festival.’

And Tom Leech wrote: ‘Hahahahaha wow I thought that was a Glastonbury related image at first glance.’ 

Since it was first posted on November 5, the post has been retweeted more than 48,000 times and liked more than 113,000 times.
