Minders keep Kyle Sandilands cool with two hand-held fans during Australian Idol grand finale break

Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands looked to be working up a sweat during Monday night’s nail-biting grand finale episode of the singing competition.

In footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia, two crew members hovered around the 52-year-old shock jock with handheld electric fans on the set of the Channel Seven show.

Despite the suspenseful atmosphere, Kyle sported a cheerful expression as he basked in the refreshing breeze provided by his minders.

Elsewhere in the episode, the winner of Australian Idol 2024 was announced.

In the end, it all came down to Amy Reeves from Western Australia, Denvah Baker-Moller from Queensland and Dylan Wright from NSW.

Dylan was eventually crowned victorious, with the Bangalow-native lost for words by the life-changing decision.

‘Thank you. I don’t know. I’m about to cry! So, thanks!’ he told the studio audience and judges Sandilands, Marcia Hines and Amy Shark.

Dylan walked away with a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Sony Music Australia, following the record public vote.

Prior to the announcement, Kyle said that both Dylan and Amy would have bright futures.

‘As judges, what we want is to deliver up the best that we have found,’ Kyle said.

‘Both of these two I would be pleased to manage, to sign. They both have amazing records. Couldn’t be happier. They are both just fantastic’.

Fellow judge Marcia Hines agreed with Kyle’s assessment.

‘Look, you will work hard because you have got a great work ethic, guys,’ she told the nervous pair.

‘I have seen it up on this stage each time you present yourselves. So, have fun with it. It’s a crazy business. But enjoy the ride.’
