Supermodel Helena Christensen and The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus’s fashion model son Mingus has been sentenced to five private counseling sessions for punching a woman in the face – after pleading guilty to a downgraded charge of disorderly conduct.
Runway model Mingus, 22, punched the 24-year-old woman – a stranger – in the face at Manhattan’s San Gennaro street festival last September.
He originally faced a misdemeanor assault charge but his attorney Isabelle Kirschner told DailyMail.com that she negotiated with the District Attorney to downgrade the charge to disorderly conduct, which is only a violation in New York City.
His plea comes as crime continues to skyrocket in New York City, with overall offenses up over 45 percent from this time last year. Felony assaults are also up 17.2 percent.
Mingus – who wore the same tailored brown suit he’s worn to his other court appearances – has claimed that the woman and her friends were inebriated and followed him for two blocks, pulling his hair, throwing water in his face and threatening his friends.
He has walked the runway for Calvin Klein and appeared on the cover of Vogue Hommes Paris just one week before the incident.

His attorney previously told DailyMail.com that the allegations against him were ‘baseless.’
‘I believe that based on the evidence, there is no credible evidence to support the charges,’ Kirschner said before Mingus pled guilty on Wednesday.
Mingus, who lives in Chelsea, appeared to be wearing the same slim, tailored brown suit he wore to his previous court appearances in February and in November.
Towering over Kirschner and photographers, the model wore a blue surgical mask and a white undershirt while his messy brown bowl cut framed his face.
Last month, attorney Kirschner said ‘nothing’ happened in court and that the case was quickly adjourned due to the backlog of court cases caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘There are 80 cases that get adjourned every day as matter of course,’ she explained to DailyMail.com. ‘Misdemeanors have always taken a very long time to resolve. They get resolved without a trial… getting trials for a misdemeanor is difficult, getting trials during a pandemic is harder.’
Mingus – who has followed in the footsteps of his mother, an original Victoria’s Secret angel, was taken into custody following the September incident.
His victim was hospitalized with a cut under her left eye, according to the NYPD.

After the incident, Mingus told the New York Daily News that the woman was one of a ‘girls under the influence and looking for a fight’ that ‘swarmed’ him, and that the police officers who arrested him ‘refused to listen to the context.’
Mingus said the women followed him and his friends for two blocks, ‘throwing food at [them] and yelling.’
‘We told them to leave us alone, but they kept following, threatening to hurt my girlfriend and her friend.’
When the group reached the corner of Mulberry and Grand Streets, Mingus told the Daily News, the women set upon him, with ‘one pulling my hair from the back, another throwing water in my face.’
He said he ‘threw his arm out’ to protect himself, accidentally hitting the woman.
‘It was instinct,’ he explained. ‘I was reacting to them swarming me and was afraid for the safety of my group.’
The incident came just one week after Mingus made his Vogue cover debut.
He was featured on the cover of the Vogue Hommes Paris’ fall-winter 2021-2022 issue alongside Parker Van Noord, son of the late male model Andre Van Noord.
Christensen and Reedus – who is best known for his role in The Walking Dead – began dating in 1998. Mingus was born the following year.

Mingus is Christensen’s only child.
The Danish supermodel frequently shares snaps on social media showing the close bond she has with her son, who has been modelling since 2017.
Mingus has walked the runway for both Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. He also appeared alongside Naomi Campbell at London Fashion Week last year.
Back in April, he starred alongside his mom in a Victoria’s Secret Mother’s Day campaign.
