Minor car crash turns into chaos when an angry mob arrives at the scene – sparking a major brawl in front of shocked locals

A suburban street descended into chaos when a minor car accident led to an all-in brawl involving an angry mob and dozens of police. 

The incident started on Campbell Hill Road in Chester Hill, in western Sydney, at around 5.30pm on Saturday when alleged drunk-driver Wayne Bedford crashed into a 19-year-old woman’s car.

Drama unfolded when two teenagers on the street started filming the accident on their mobile phones.

The young woman’s family members told the teenagers to stop recording, before calling in backup.

An angry mob then arrived on the scene, where the brawl broke out.

Police officers were called in to break up the fight, and were forced to use pepper spray to separate the angry brawlers. 

Ahmed Allah Madeen, 34, who was on crutches after recent surgery, allegedly used one of his crutches to hit a police officers.

He was arrested and charged with assault and affray.  

‘Someone said “I’m going home to get a gun” then someone yelled out “I’ve got a knife”,’ witness Jean Jackson told 9 News.

‘Both my son and son-in-law had to help the police hold a couple down so that they could try and control it, but [the police] couldn’t control it.’ 

Another witness Raneem Yahia said she saw kids getting pepper sprayed.

‘Everyone was just going crazy, it was like World War Three… people were getting thrown onto the ground; it was terrible.’

The two teenagers who filmed the accident were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
