And on Monday, Tom Cruise, 61, attended the film’s premiere in Sydney alongside movie director Christopher McQuarrie, 54, who praised the actor for ‘saving cinema’.
‘The person I want to compliment is the person who will always dodge the compliments, Tom Cruise,’ he said at the red carpet event, reports Variety.
‘When this process started four years ago, we were entering a period where it looked like this event was headed for extinction. One person said, “No, we’re gonna keep it going”. And that’s Tom.’
He added Cruise’s dedication to the craft saw him willingly perform a death-defying stunt for the movie, because he knew the audience would love it.

‘Harrison Ford is a legend. I hope to be still going at that age, I’ve got 20 years to catch up with him, he told The Sydney Morning Herald.
‘I hope to keep making Mission Impossible films until I’m his age,’ he added.
