MKR contestant David Vu fronts court on drug charge

My Kitchen Rules contestant David Vu will front court on Friday over drug charges.

The reality TV star is set to appear for the first time at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, facing one charge of possessing an illicit substance.

David appeared on the hit Channel Seven reality TV show alongside friend Betty Banks, the two coming in third and just missing out on a spot in the grand final.

The 32-year-old, who hails from Punchbowl in Sydney’s west, won judges over for his and Betty’s Asian fusion dishes. 

The best friends also won a legion of fans online thanks to their penchant for snapping selfies.  

Since appearing on the show David and Betty have made a string of public appearances.

David this week joined former winner Adam Liaw for a cooking demonstration at Sydney Seafood School.
