MKR”s Courtney reveals details of romantic proposal

She was runner-up in this year’s season of My Kitchen Rules.

But reality TV star Courtney Ferdinands has finished first when it comes to love, her longtime partner Daniel Pearson popping the question this month. 

The 30-year-old recounted the heartfelt proposal to New Idea, with Courtney revealing her fiance had even planned a surprise celebration party for after he popped the question.

The proposal was a complete surprise to Courtney, with Daniel telling her they were going to a friend’s garden party.

But instead he took her to Wendy’s Secret Garden in the Sydney harbourside suburb of Lavender Bay.

‘Suddenly, he stopped and grabbed both of my hands and I started tearing up. Daniel then guided me to this spot where there was a sign that said: ”Will you marry me?” Courtney explained.

Daniel presented Courtney with an 18-carat yellow gold engagement ring with a high set solitaire, complimented by diamonds on each side of the sparkler.

Making the day even more special, Daniel had organised a party for immediately after she said yes.

‘Daniel had organised an ”after-event” lunch nearby, with our close friends and family waiting to help us celebrate,’ Courtney said. 

Daniel’s mother Mary even made a heartfelt appearance from her home in Adelaide on FaceTime.

‘She is battling cancer at the moment, so she wasn’t able to fly, but it was very special that she got to experience the day with us,’ Courtney said. 

Earlier this month, Courtney took to Instagram to thank her loved ones and fans for their well wishes.

‘We are overwhelmed and so grateful for your calls, texts, gifts, comments, love and support during this time,’ she wrote.

‘How lucky we are to have such beautiful people around us.’
