It’s been a tough season for fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates, made tougher now that one of their starters has been suspended for a lewd gesture.

During a game on the road against the Los Angeles Angels, Pirates outfielder Tommy Pham ended up in a heated moment with a fan.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Angels catcher Travis d’Arnaud hit a line drive up the third base line that rolled all the way into the left outfield corner.

As Pham raced over to scoop the ball up, multiple fans reached over the low wall to try and grab the ball.

One of those fans appeared to have touched Pham as he bent down to grab it – drawing a stare from the player as he tossed the ball to the infield and held d’Arnaud to a double.

Moments afterward, an incensed looking Pham stared back over at the group of fans, muttered some words, and then made a tugging motion around his pelvis.

When cameras cut back to Pham, he was seen continuing to bark at the fans who reached over and touched him.

It’s unclear if the fans who touched Pham were ejected from the game.

For his simulated masturbation, Pham was suspended one game by the league.

But that suspension has been put on hold as Pham will be appealing the punishment.

Pham hasn’t been doing too well this season, batting .184 with no home runs.

His team isn’t faring too well either, sitting last in the NL Central with a record of 10-16.
