Mo Gilligan ‘secretly splits from Hollyoaks star girlfriend Sophie Wise after four years’

Mo Gilligan has reportedly secretly split from his girlfriend Sophie Wise as he attempts to crack America.

The comedian, 34, had been dating the former Hollyoaks actress for four years, with the couple having set up home together at the start of the year.

But with Mo travelling between the UK and Los Angeles to shoot his upcoming TV show That’s My Jam, the pair have said to have called time on their romance. 

A source told The Sun: ‘The split is totally amicable and they are still friends despite what’s been a difficult time.

‘He is such a hot property in the US right now, as well as still being in demand in Britain, and work has been overwhelming.

‘There certainly isn’t any other woman on the scene. They just reached the end of the line.’

MailOnline have contacted Mo’s representatives for comment.

The Masked Singer judge and Sophie kept their relationship out of the public eye and there reference of her on any of his social media.

Mo confirmed their relationship back in 2018 but since then has made no public mention of her nor have they been pictured at public events together. 

The couple began dating before Mo shot to fame, with the funnyman going on to front his own programme The Lateish Show, and also appears on shows including The Big Breakfast, Celebrity Gogglebox and The Big Narstie Show.

Mo is also a judge on The Masked Dancer but has had to step down this series as he tries to launch his career in the US. He has been replaced by footballer Peter Crouch.  

Meanwhile, Sophie enjoyed a two month spell as troubled Carly Bradley in 2015, with the character living in witness protection.

The brunette beauty also appeared in three-part BBC crime drama Rillington Place, while she’s also had short stints in Doctors, Holby City and has acted in film The Emperor’s Club.

Despite keeping his romance under wraps,  Mo did open up about moving in with Sophie back in January.

Detailing how Sophie will be in charge of decorating their abode, he told The Sun: ‘A lot of it will be my girlfriend’s choice. She’s been on Pinterest for years.

‘Hopefully one day my kids will grow up in this house. Me and my girlfriend won’t be moving for a little while.’

Mo added: ‘I once bought a rug, she saw it, said it was horrible, and it’s been rolled-up ever since. I got it from Ikea.’
