Model Sarah Stage reveals how she maintains her abs

Sarah Stage fills her Instagram feed with stunning pictures of her six-pack abs and darling snapshots of her two young sons, but there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the mom’s jam-packed daily routine that often leaves her feeling exhausted.

The 33-year-old lingerie model, who was dubbed ‘Six-Pack Mom’ after maintaining her rock-hard abs throughout both of her pregnancies, spends most days balancing her role as a mother-of-two with her life as an Instagram star with more than 2.3 million followers.

Sarah told Cosmopolitan.com that she and her husband, Kris Jason, co-sleep with their nearly four-month-old son, Logan Alexander, as she nurses him every three hours. Her day typically starts when her newborn wakes her up around 7:30 a.m. for breakfast.

The fitness guru said she almost always has coffee and vanilla creamer before making a breakfast of Ezekial bread, scrambled eggs, and fruit, which she shares with her two-and-a-half-year-old son, James.

The mom explained that James goes to an early pre-school program a couple of days a week, so the mornings are spent rushing to give him a bath, change both of her sons’ diapers, pack their diaper bags, breastfeed Logan for at least 15 minutes, and walk their pet chihuahua, Maria.

Whether she is responding to Instagram commenters or checking her emails, Sarah noted that she is almost always multitasking while breastfeeding Logan.

Sarah takes James to school at 10 a.m. and little Logan comes with her for the ride. Like most newborns, Logan tends to fall asleep in the car, so when she gets home a half hour later, she likes to use that time to sneak in one of the workouts from her fitness guide.

‘I typically work out for 45 minutes about every other day — no more, since I’m usually sore and like to give my body a day to rest and recover between workouts,’ she explained.

After a nearly three-month recovery from her C-section, Sarah started working out again in late December. Right before she rang in 2018, she shared a video of herself doing squats and lunges while holding her baby boy.

She was also filmed jumping around with James, and she even let her eldest crawl on top of her while she was doing side planks.

Sarah told Cosmopolitan that she does ‘lots of planks and crunches’ now that she can go back to working on her abs.

After her workout, she has a smoothie with protein powder, banana, strawberries, and almond milk before taking a shower.

Sarah explained that she has eyelash extensions and recently had her eyebrows microbladed, noting that it really cuts down on the time it takes her to get ready for the day.

In the afternoon, she may have a meeting or a doctor’s appointment. On this particular day, she had a lunch date with a new agent at Aroma Coffee and Tea Company, as she is looking to return to modeling full-time in the next few months.

Sarah ordered a chicken salad topped with avocado and hard-boiled eggs, with balsamic dressing on the side, and she breastfed Logan inside the coffe shop when he woke up hungry.

Although he sleeps most of the time, Sarah admitted that taking him to work meetings can be stressful because he can get fussy or make a mess.

Like most moms, Sarah runs to the grocery store every couple of days, and she made sure to pick up ingredients to make tacos on her way home from her meeting because she knew her husband was craving them.

After unloading the car and putting the groceries away, it was 3 p.m. and time for her to nurse Logan again. When he is sleeping, she likes to answer her fans’ fitness and health questions and forward any business inquiries she gets to her manager.

Sarah picks James up from pre-school at 3:30 p.m. and she will sometimes stop by a local juice bar to grab a ‘ginger lemon juice shot’ for herself and an apple carrot juice to share with her eldest son.

An hour later, James is down for his nap and Sarah will do laundry and clean up the house. After he wakes up at around 5:30 p.m., she will play with him before dinner.

When Kris comes home from work at 7:30 p.m. they sit down and eat before he reads James a bedtime story and tucks him in.

Sarah admitted that she is usually beat by the end of the day, so she’ll try to take a relaxing bath or an enjoy a glass of wine when she can.

Although her Instagram Stories are usually flooded with pictures and videos, Sarah insisted that she doesn’t put too much thought into what she is posting.

‘Even though I try to post at least once a day, I don’t feel pressure because no one is forcing me to do it,’ she explained.

Terrifying: In a lengthy Instagram post, Sarah explained that James was ‘aggressively’ attacked and was lucky that he didn’t lose his eye

‘I’ll often use a random photo or take pictures with Logan or James with a caption related to what I’m going through at the moment. Sometimes I just use an emoji and call it a day.’

Although her Instagram photos often feature photos of her trim frame, Sarah gets candid about her life as a mom when she is writing her captions.

While sharing a photo of herself in a pink sports bra and leggings, the mom revealed on Monday that her son James had been ‘aggressively’ attacked by a dog.

‘Gosh this might be the hardest week I’ve had as a mom so far!’ she wrote. ‘Poor Jamesy got attacked in the face by a dog (the dog was triggered by James eating a snack and started to aggressively bite his face. Luckily i was able to pry the dog off of James before the dog got to James eye) and now Jamesy has the flu and little Logan has a cold.’

Despite the challenges she was facing, Sarah was quick to point out that things ‘can always be much worse.’

‘When the Dr. told me how lucky we were that James didn’t lose his vision in his eye, it put so much into perspective,’ she explained. ‘We all have bad days and it’s how we overcome them that help us grow strength for ourselves and for our family.’
