Ann Perugia, 35, is charged with aggravated child abuse and is accused of breaking her son’s 10-year-old jaw because he wouldn’t stop playing the game Fortnite
A mother from Florida ended up punching her 10-year-old son in the face after he wouldn’t stop playing Fortnite and refused to take a shower.
Upon finally dragging him off his console and into the bathroom, the youngster then refused to get washed whereupon his mother is said to have punched him in the jaw, dislocating it, police say.
Ann Perugia, 35, had collected her son from school that day and let him play the cult game until 7pm with his friends.
After being asked to turn the machine off and get ready for bed, Perugia came back into the room to see that her son was still playing and hadn’t moved from the sofa.
Perugia sternly told him to ‘get into the shower!’
The boy finally got up and began to move but it wasn’t fast enough for his mother who is alleged to have lost her temper, got ‘irate and charged’ him into the bathroom.
While the two were inside, Perugia punched him with a closed fist at his jaw which then dislocated causing him immense pain.
The youngster then found his cellphone to call his dad and tell him what had happened.

Perugia told police that things happened differently.
She said her son stomped his feet into the bathroom and so she followed him and asked about his attitude.
He replied, ‘I hate you and you don’t do anything for me!’ She then left the room, and the next thing she saw was him speaking to his father on the phone and packing a bag.
When he started to leave, she grabbed his arm and dragged him back inside.
Then the boy walked outside, sat by his mother’s car and threw rocks at her vehicle according to the Miami Herald.
The boy’s father told police that when he got to the house to pick him up, he saw him standing outside with a bag of clothes and shoes. Perugia came outside and told him to take his child and leave, so he did.
The boy told his father that Perugia punched him.
When police went to Perugia’s home after the boy’s aunt went to the police station to report the incident, his father said he wanted to press charges for child abuse.
Police arrested Perugia and charged her with infliction of mental and physical injury to a child. She is being held without bond.
