A resident of in Prince George, British Columbia caught the scene on video using her cell phone which was shared widely by various news networks.
She said her husband heard something strange when he parked his car, then noticed the huge animal above her on a day where it had snowed heavily.

The moose was apparently lost and was looking for a way to get down. It can be seen in the video stomping around.
It is not unknown how the moose managed to make his way to the roof of the carport. But the animal managed to make it down by itself.
Police were subsequently called to the scene but the moose disappeared and they couldn’t find him.

The woman who took the footage said it is common to see moose up close in residential areas of this province in western Canada.
Moose are found in Canadian forests from the Alaska boundary to the eastern tip of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Typically moose are located on the rocky, wooded hillsides of the western mountain ranges, near lakes and streams of the great boreal forest.
According to estimates, there are are between 500 000 and 1 million moose in Canada.
