This is the moment a bullied schoolboy turns on his tormentors knocks one down with a powerful left hook. 

The video, which has been posted on Twitter, is believed to have been shot in the Merseyside area. 

During the shocking footage, a girl is seen slapping the victim across the face. A teenage schoolboy with a bouffant hairstyle then challenges the youngster to a fight.

As the victim backs away from the confrontation, he dramatically punches his tormentor with the bouffant hair, striking him with a powerful left hook. 

The punch sends the teenager sprawling backwards almost striking the back of his head on the bench of a nearby bus stop.

Immediately, the victim is then attacked by the teenage girl before the footage ends.  

The clip has been retweeted over 4,000 times and liked by over 10,000 social media users. 

The thirteen-second clip shows the group, all wearing school uniform, circling the lone boy with one in particular leading the charge.

Social media users reacted to the video with sympathy for the victim. 

Sean Berry said: ‘Yes. What a hit son. What a hit.’

Another user said: ‘Never condone violence, but when it’s self preservation and defence you are protected. Perfect timing.’

Rob Hughes said: ‘I don’t like violence but I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t a bit pleasing. I don’t know the context but those kids don’t seem like they’re fighting the good fight.’

Paul Jones said: ‘I’ve been that kid. Backing away, being harassed and fearful. The release in standing up for yourself is massive.’
